20 weeks
by aaron on October 28th, 2008
Today Sebastian is 20 weeks old. 20 weeks is also 1/2 of the time he was inside his mom’s belly, and 20 weeks is typically the point during the pregnancy in which you find out the gender of the baby. He’s grown a lot in 20 weeks. How many times can I say 20 weeks in this post? One more time (20 weeks). I took this photo of him this morning. He’s wearing a 100% Pima Cotton, Peruvian-made ensemble by Feather Baby. The outfit was purchased at Popo in Green Hills by his Aunt Pat last Easter.

Wedding

Photographed the wedding on Saturday … it was completely exhausting but I think it went really well. Still shuffling through the INSANE number of photos I took. I enjoyed it.
Baby-proof
by aaron on October 21st, 2008
Also, the doc told us that we need to start baby-proofing our house SOON, because even though he’s only 4 months old, he’s grabbing everything in sight and once he’s able to crawl, there will be no stopping him. And right now our place is a deathtrap.
And I was just looking at him sleeping in his mommy’s arms … we both think he’s gotten a lot bigger even just in the past week. He changes so fast, we’re trying hard not to miss it.
4-month visit
by aaron on October 21st, 2008
Sebastian had his 4-month visit yesterday at the pediatrician’s office … and he got RAVE reviews from the doc :) She said he was very advanced and was a little show-off, pushing himself up, rolling over onto his side, and trying to eat her stethoscope. And she commented on how happy he was because I think she heard him cracking up when she was in the other room while I was blowing raspberries on his belly. Sometime within the next month we are going to start introducing some solid foods to him. Pretty sure that’s when the diapers start to get BAD.
And then he got his second round of vaccine shots. It was so heartbreaking to see him go from being so happy to crying because of the needles. Then he seemed to do okay for the afternoon, and then in the middle of the night he was burning up with a 102.8° fever. When we called the triage nurse in the middle of the night, she assured us that it was okay to have this high of a fever after his shots, but that if it doesn’t get under control after three days, then we should take him in. We gave him baby tylenol and changed his clothes into something a little lighter and over the course of the next two hours, his fever was down to 100.9° … today he just feels completely crappy. And he just sneezed this adorable little sneeze. I hate it when he feels bad. Especially when I have a ton of work to get done, which puts most of the work taking care of him onto Michelle. I just want to be able to spend the day holding him and helping him feel better, but his mommy is doing a pretty good job at that, even though she didn’t get much sleep last night, either.
No. 9 Revolution
by aaron on October 17th, 2008
Sebastian slept for NINE hours last night. We woke up at 3:30am and he had not gotten us up yet, which freaked us out, so we went into the nursery and he was sleeping and breathing just fine. So we went back to bed, he got us up about an hour and a half later, ate, and then slept for an additional hour on top of the previous nine. WE didn’t get nine hours, but we DID sleep for 5 hours straight for the first time since before he was born.
And when he did wake up, even though he hadn’t had food for nine hours (he usually eats every two or three) he was crying, but not hysterically, just a normal, sweet cry, and then once he was up for good this morning, he was in a GREAT mood. Which put us in a great mood :)
Tummy Time

This morning Sebastian was on his tummy and pushed himself up to look around the room … twice! We were so freaking excited :)
Biscuits and Bluegrass
by aaron on October 11th, 2008
• We took him to the Biscuits & Bluegrass festival at Loveless Cafe … he slept most of the time. But he woke up inside Curious Heart and Michelle had him laughing a few times :)
• On Wednesday (Oct. 8) Sebastian rolled over onto his belly for the first time all by himself!
• This morning our friends Bob and Rachel gave us their son’s crib, and we’re SO excited that we are so close to actually having his nursery done. B + R ROCK. Thanks guys!
• Also this morning Sebo actually was able to hold the bottle of formula by himself. He did it again this afternoon.
• And yesterday was his 4 month birthday. It’s equally hard to believe that it’s already been 4 months and that it’s only been 4 months.
Comedic timing

Michelle walked in with Sebastian and said that although she didn’t want to speak too soon, he hadn’t spit up on her all day. No sooner than the words came out of her mouth …
